Job Overview |
§ Fabricates and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. |
Responsibilities and Duties |
§ The safe and cost-efficient performance of welding and other duties assigned. § Repairs, modifies, designs, lays out, or fabricates (with or without blueprints) a variety of metal work including mining equipment. § Cuts, fits, and welds metal using gas and electric welding equipment; performs skilled brazing and soldering; and uses a variety of machines, such as power saws, grinders, and drills, in completing work. § Carry out jobs assigned by foreman safety and efficiently. § Diagnoses and repairs minor mechanical defects in gas- and diesel-powered engines, including graders, loaders, rollers, dozers, sweepers, tractors, and other heavy equipment. § To provide accurate reporting and recording of work done on work orders and daily activity sheets. § Assists to recover dump trucks, trailers, and haul non-functioning heavy equipment from worksites to County or private shops for repair. § Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and technical manuals; design, fabricate, and repair a variety of metal work. § Keep the workplace tidy, clear of obstructions and disposing correctly of machining/hazardous waste. § Correct filling out of work orders and daily activity sheet, using correct work order numbers/cost codes with detailed description and parts used recorded. § Assist in line boring jobs and be able to learn or teach his experiences. |

Education Level: Welding Technical | Years of Experience: 3 years on Mining Environment |
Specific Skills / Competencies § Maintenance Welder needs to be completed 2 years welding course. § 3 years’ Work experience on heavy equipment including ground engaging tools. § Knowledge of tools and methods of the welding trade, including brazing, soldering, electrical, and arc welding, minor repair, and safety practices related to welding and equipment repairs. § Good Communication skills. § to work as team. § Ability to work unsupervised. § Good disciplinary and tidiness Machinery.
